Gun Battery Ristiniemi

Gun Battery Ristiniemi was built by the German Army in July 1941 and consisted of four 155 mm. guns. They were placed in open cast rings and had a range of 19 km.

The gun battery was regularly in artillery dual with gun batteries on the Russian side. In October 1944, the Russians moved the front line forward and the position was abandoned by the Germans. The guns were blown away and the whole area was evacuated.

The remains of the gun battery today lie within a Russian military area and the accessibility is therefore limited.
